Ventstrip provides a innovative timbercare solution with a damp-proof course which allows ventilation at the very base of the building.
The main issue in the longevity of timber buildings has been the use of a conventional damp proof course, which whilst preventing rising damp, also causes the base timber to remain damp due to lack of ventilation. Ventstrip reduces this damp problem, which can otherwise lead to the deterioration of the structure.
Ventstrip is simple and easy to install at time of construction and will interlock onto itself which means there is little waste.
It is constructed from HDPE with truncated conical protrusions. It is resistant to UV, acid/alkali and does not support bacterial or fungal growth. The crush strength is 200 Kn/msq.
Ventstrip has been developed by Mark Baron who has had many years of direct involvement in the design and construction of timber framed buildings and log buildings, both in the domestic and commercial sectors.
